Michel Vu was born in Paris in 1941. He is the son of the painter Vu Cao Dam. He lived in Paris, Vence, Saint-Paul de Vence, Majorca and more recently Essaouira where there is a museum space dedicated to his extraordinary thuya wood cars. He studied art at the Ecole des Arts Décoratifs in Nice. In 1974, he settled in Ghazoua, near Essaouira
