L’Hiver et L’Été, a pair of bronze figures by Leopold van Esbroek (1911-2010). A pair of females representing Winter and Summer, draped in a cloak and carrying sunflowers and wheat sheafs respectively. Set over shaped marble plinths. Signed L V Esbroek to bronze and stamped Batardy care perdue Bruxelles.
Leopold van Esbroek was the youngest ever professor at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Many works were executed in carved wood and these are two rare and fine examples in bronze.
