A well proportioned Art Deco cabinet by Betty Joel. Solid Australian Walnut. Drinks cupboard to top with a pull out shelf, above a middle magazine cabinet and a lower two door cabinet.

Joel was a British furniture, textile and interior designer, active in England from c. 1921 until 1937. Her work was featured in The Studio, the illustrated fine arts and decorative arts magazine, from 1927 to 1937. Examples of her work can be seen in the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Geffrye Museum, London. Her private clients included Lord Mountbatten and Sir Winston Churchill.
