Dadra Taal, a large acrylic on canvas by Sarah Kent (b. 1947). Dar Taal is a six beat rhythm pattern (tal) of two parts in Indian music. In this painting, six colours are interwoven in two parts.
Sarah Kent trained at the Slade School of Art, was the visual arts editor art of Time Out, the ICA’s Director of Exhibitions, has served on Turner Prize and other juries, and has written catalogues for the Hayward, ICA, and the Saatchi Gallery.
