Paul Jouve was considered as one of the most famous animal painters of first half of the 20th century and an iconic figure of the Art Deco period. Jouve knew fame and success in his lifetime in part thanks to his vibrant and inventive illustrations for literature, perhaps most notably for Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book.
